3 texts:
1. Stars in the Darkness by Gregory Christie
2. Scorpions by Walter Deans Myers
3. The Wild Children by Felice Hoffman

Statement:
I saw a lot of similarities between Whale Talk and this book, as well as a lot of differences. One thing I noticed that was similiar between both books was the letter jacket situation. On page 219, Casey says "I hate letter jackets". This really showed me how letter jackets are often correlated with stuck up jocks, which is true to a point, but I hope people realize that that's not always the case.

Question:
Casey seems like a great person that she would tutor someone from the Clan, but I wonder why she would do it. Why would she risk getting involved in a gang just to help someone she didn't even know?

3 texts:
1. Jason and Kyra by Dana Davidson
2. Rachel's Tears: The Spiritual Journey of Columbine Martyr of Rachel Scott by Darrell Scott, Steve Rabey, and Beth Nimmo
3.The Wild Children by Felice Holman

Statement:
I thought it was interesting how just as it occurred in Whale Talk with Mike appoligizing to T.J. at the end of the books and some of their conflicts between them disappeared, at the end of this book one can see the two gangs starting to mesh together. ex: Skylar, Baby, Casey, and Dickon's conversation at the end and Gene and Lenny reading together as their community Service.

Question:
I also wanted to know why Casey wanted to get involved tutoring someone from a gang she was always scared of? Whenever it seemed like he did not want to do it anymore she would say " Fine, we won't.", but then she never wanted to follow through with it, which was always noticiable. So I wonder if she had other motives behind her deciding to tutor besides the reasoning just to help someone?
