A Million Open Doors - John Barnes
Hyperion - Dan Simmons
Ender's Game - Orson Scott Card
I really enjoyed this novel. I thought that the evolution of the foxen was interesting, in that the Hippae did were antagonistic to what they grow into. The reactions of the Arabia to the malevolence of the Hippae was a good counterpoint to how mankind dealt with the disease they were spreading.
When the Arabia discovered that the disease they were suffering from was caused by the Hippae, it seems that they simply let it happen, following their moral code to do no violence to sentient beings. What kind of comparisons can be drawn between the Arabia in this novel and the buggers in Ender's Game?
